President & Chief Executive Officer 

Julieann M. ThurlowJulieann M. Thurlow was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Reading Co-operative Bank in 2006. She has more than 25 years of banking industry experience and was consistently promoted through the ranks at the Bank since 1996. Under her leadership, Reading Co-operative’s assets have grown markedly.

In this capacity, she is responsible for the strategic direction and management of all aspects of the Bank. Ms. Thurlow is a standout among women bank presidents in Massachusetts and has been profiled in both local and regional media. In 2008, she was appointed to the American Bankers Association Task Force on Regulatory Reform and has been asked to testify before Congress on critical issues.

Ms. Thurlow also serves as President of the Reading Co-operative Bank’s Charitable Foundation and is active in identifying and supporting organizations and projects that improve the quality of life in and around the communities served by the Bank.

Prior to her appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer, she held several positions at Reading Co-operative Bank including: Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, Senior Loan Officer and Director of Community Banking. Before joining the Reading Co-operative team, Ms. Thurlow managed a C&I lending portfolio for Boston Bank of Commerce, worked for Lawrence Savings Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Winchendon Savings Bank.

Ms. Thurlow holds an MBA from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and has completed advanced studies at the National School of Banking and the Massachusetts School for Financial Studies. In 2009, she was appointed to their Professional Development Council. She also serves on the Mass Bankers Association Federal Liaison Committee and on the board of the Co-operative Bank Employee Retirement Association. Ms. Thurlow holds the Series 6 and 63 securities licenses as well as a Life, Accident and Health Insurance license. She is also a Trustee of Winchester Hospital, a board member of the Mission of Deeds and the VNA Middlesex East, a past President of the Reading Lions Club, past President and Director for the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer and Director of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.

Sr. Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Anthony J. PattiAnthony J. Patti was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Reading Co-operative Bank in January 2006. His responsibilities include the following areas: Finance, Accounting and Treasury, Operations, Information Technology and Security, Compliance and Facilities. Mr. Patti brings more than 30 years of banking experience to Reading Co-operative Bank.

Prior to his position at Reading Co-operative, Mr. Patti served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Medford Co-operative Bank and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Revere Federal Savings Bank. His duties at both institutions included the following: Asset/Liability Management, Regulatory and SEC reporting, Strategic Planning, and Information Technology and Security.

Mr. Patti is currently a member of the Legal and Regulatory Compliance Committee of the Massachusetts Bankers Association. He is a past member of the Mass Bankers Association Federal Liaison Committee.

Mr. Patti received his BA in Economics from Framingham State College and has his MBA in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. He has also attended various training and educational programs offered by the Massachusetts Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association.

He is a former resident of Methuen and now resides in Derry, New Hampshire.

Sr. Vice President & Chief Lending Officer

Lynne S. JohnsonLynne S. Johnson, was named Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer in December 2008. She is responsible for developing all policies, plans and procedures for managing the Bank’s residential and commercial lending divisions and oversees loan administration, which services the Bank’s entire loan portfolio.

Unlike many banks, Reading Co-operative Bank writes, retains and services the majority of its loans at its office at 180 Haven Street, Reading.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Johnson held several positions of increasing responsibility, such as Assistant Treasurer and Consumer Loan Officer, and has served in all areas of Reading Co-operative Bank, including: branch administration, operations, and loan collections. Most recently, she has served as Vice President overseeing and managing the Bank’s Residential Loan Department, which has grown by more than 600% under her management. Ms. Johnson has been instrumental in establishing the Bank’s online mortgage portal which originates online mortgages and now generates 30% of all the Bank’s mortgage loans.

Before joining Reading Co-operative Bank in 1987, Ms. Johnson held positions in branch operations and financial control with US Trust and Shawmut.

Ms. Johnson is a graduate of the School for Financial Studies at Babson College and has completed many banking program courses and seminars pertinent to her career. She has served on the Fiserv Northeast Regional Users Group since 2004.

A lifelong Reading resident, she lives with her family, Christopher and Robert Johnson. She is a member of Eastern Middlesex Association of Realtors.

Sr. Vice President & Director of Business Development

John J. MurphyJohn J. Murphy was named Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development in May 2008. In this capacity, he is responsible for expanding the Bank’s presence in the communities it serves with a focus on the local Woburn area. He is known in North Reading and Reading circles as a professional with broad expertise in both banking and finance and a keen interest in civic affairs.

Before joining the Reading Co-operative team, Mr. Murphy served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Everett Credit Union where he was responsible for business planning and policies, financial operations, marketing, and the effective delivery of all banking services. Murphy also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Credit Union and, prior to that, served as the First Vice President of the Federal Home Bank of Boston, responsible for all of their operational activities.

Mr. Murphy is a past President of the Everett Rotary Club and served on the board for the Everett Business Education Co-operative, Everett Literacy Program and the Everett Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a Director for the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, the Woburn Business Association, the Woburn Council for Social Concern, is Treasurer of the North Reading Music Boosters, and a member of the Board of Incorporators for the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn. He was recently appointed to the Board of Corporators for Hallmark Health and serves on both the investment and the development committees of the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Woburn. He is the Town Moderator for North Reading and previously served on the Board of Selectmen, Trustees of Trust Funds and the Elementary School Building Committee.

Mr. Murphy received his BS from Suffolk University in Business Administration and has an MBA from Northeastern University’s Executive Program. He is also a graduate of the Massachusetts School for Financial Studies.

He lives in North Reading with his wife, Lorraine, and two children.

Financial Planner

Gino MolettieriGino Molettieri chose to align with Reading Co-operative Bank because his interest in helping individuals and business owners define their long-term goals mirrored that of the Bank. Gino works with bank clients to develop a financial plan to help achieve their goals, and meets with them regularly to provide ongoing service and advice as their needs change. This includes assisting them in making informed financial decisions and investment strategies. Gino understands clients are unique in their financial circumstances and concerns, and he delivers advice on a customized basis.

Gino is dedicated to educating his clients on the many aspects of wealth management and asset protection. Recommendations are presented only after determining the client’s risk tolerance, financial needs and goals, and a time frame for those goals.

Gino believes in utilizing a team approach and works closely with his clients’ other advisors. This business model provides Gino’s clients with more immediate and comprehensive service.

As a graduate of Northeastern University, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses, as well as a Life, Accident and Health Insurance License.

Gino is a member of the 2010 Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Reading with his wife Anna, and children, Isabel, Lydia and Ethan. Away from the office, Gino enjoys golf, hockey and activities with his family.
